New Delhi: LIC Housing Finance has reported a 6.3 percent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 407.84 crore for first quarter ended June.

The company's net profit stood at Rs 382.13 crore in the corresponding April-June quarter of 2015-16.


Total income increased to Rs 3,379.86 crore in the quarter as against Rs 2,965.46 crore in the same period a year ago, it said in a regulatory filing.


Earnings per share as of June 30, 2016, increased to Rs 8.08 compared with Rs 7.57 a year ago.


The company provides loan for the purchase or construction of residential houses.


LIC Housing Finance shares were trading 3.35 per cent up at Rs 523.50 on BSE during the pre-close session.
