In the 2023 edition of the IPL, he will be representing Mumbai Indians – his 2018 franchise when he played 5 matches and picked as many wickets. This will be Behrendorff's second stint with five time IPL champions Mumbai Indians (MI). He was part of the 2021 IPL winning Chennai Super Kings squad. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings are set to release two players from their squad and will retain all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, as per reports. The Indian Premier League (IPL) could not be wholly held in India for the last three years due to coronavirus pandemic but the upcoming 2023 edition is expected to take place in India. Notably, it can be MS Dhoni's last season given the age factor coming into play. Last season he said that he will play his last game infront of the CSK fans at home.
