Happy Birthday Saeed Anwar: Do you know what connects Sachin Tendulkar with opener`s 194-run knock?
Sachin Tendulkar both took Saeed Anwar`s wicket during the 194-run knock and surpassed his score.
New Delhi: 21st May 1997 saw history being made as Saeed Anwar broke Sir Viv Richards' record of higest individual score in ODI cricket after the flamboyant Pakistani opener smashed 194 runs against arch-rivals India.
Though Charles Coventry matched Saeed Anwar's record 12 years later, when the Zimbabwean scored 194* against Bangladesh, it was Sachin Tendulkar who surpassed the mark, scoring 200* against South Africa in 2010.
Apart from being the first one to outscore Anwar, Tendulkar coincidental was also the one to claim the Pakistani batsman's wicket during the latter's historic knock.
