New Delhi: As expected, Shreyas Iyer and Mohammed Shami have been added to the India squad for the fourth and final Test against Australia on Friday.

In a media release, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that All-India Senior Selection Committee decided to include the two players. Bot the players are already with the team in Dharamsala.


Yesterday, Iyer was called up as a covered for skipper Virat Kohli, whose participation in the match is still uncertain. Kohli picked un a shoulder injury on Day 1 of the Ranchi Test.


But Shami has been with the team since the Bengaluru Test. Shami was released for Bengal's Vijay Hazare Trophy final against Tamil Nadu. In his first competitive match after the injury lay-off, Shami produced figures of 7-0-36-0 in a vain.


Shami's presence bolsters India's pace battery and is expected play, in Ishant Sharma's place, in the pace-friendly Dharamsala.
