Once a part of the Delhi Daredevils squad, they both are now related to different franchises in the Indian Premier League. While Gautam Gambhir is the skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders, Viru was recently appointed as the head of Cricket Operations & Strategy for Kings XI Punjab, where he played for few years as well.

But finally a disagreement has come between the two stalwarts.

As Sehwag announced the inclusion of Ishant Sharma in KXIP squad at a press conference recently, the Nawab of Nazafgarh was reminded of Gambhir's comment after the pacer went unsold at the auction earlier this year.

"Nobody will pay Rs 2 crore for 4 overs. I am surprised to see Ishant’s base price," Gambhir had said.

Sehwag, who has lately become the master of words, replied, “Tell me one thing, who pays your Rs 12 crore for playing 60 balls then?”

Ishant was one of the key players to have remained unsold at the auction, which also saw the likes of Irfan Pathan, Imran Tahir and few other top names failing to get a buyer.

As a result of plethora of injuries to key cricketers, these names finally got a place in different squads.

Ishant was included as a replacement for Murali Vijay, who has been ruled of the tenth edition due to injury.
