New Delhi: There would hardly be an Indian cricket fan who was pleased with Rising Pune Supergiant's decision to replace MS Dhoni with Steve Smith as the captain of the team for 2017 edition of Indian Premier League. Some of the fans were hoping to see their favourite Mahi leading the Chennai Super Kings squad again in 2018 after the ban on the Tamil Nadu based franchise gets lifted next season.

Well guess what? There wish is most likely to be fulfilled.

According to a report in Time of India, N Srinivasan was quoted as saying, "If you are a CSK fan and are a cricket aficionado, you want to see MS Dhoni leading the side again in 2018. You want him to walk out wearing yellow. There is every possibility of that happening and next year we will be back with a bang. The absence from the competition has not affected the CSK brand at all."

Srinivasan said so while speaking at the Madras Advertising Club Awards in Chennai on Friday.

CSK are presently serving two-year IPL suspension for alleged involvement of their owners in the 2013 Indian Premier League betting case.

Srinivasan was also seen lauding Dhoni's style of batting and his way of leading the team to successful title chases in the past. Well it seems as if Chennai fans will now have one more chance to chant the Whistle Podu anthem.
