New Delhi: Australian cricketer Adam Voges was taken to hospital after being hit in the head while batting for Western Australia on Thursday.

The incident happened when the batsman was looking to defend against a quick bouncer bowled by Cameron Stevenson on Day 1 of the Sheffield match.

The Western Australian Cricket Association confirmed news through their Twitter account informing that Voges had been concussed and would take no further part in the game.


“Voges has been diagnosed with concussion,” the team said via the official Waca Twitter account. “He is OK, naturally a bit groggy. Being monitored by medicos. Ruled out of rest of game.”
