New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore's IPL 2017 got off to a poor start after they were defeated by 35 runs by defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening match of the tenth edition. RCB missed the services of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, who have been ruled of the first few matches as they are still recovering from injuries.

There weren't too many happy moments for the RCB fans but Mandeep Singh definitely gave them something to cheer with a sensational effort in the field.


In Yuzvendra Chahal's third over, SRH batsman Yuvraj Singh smashed a wide ball towards wide of long-off where Mandeep timed his jump to perfection and stopped vital five runs for his team.


Fielding at long-off, Mandeeep quickly got himself into position and flew towards his right, got his hands to the ball, but grassed what was a very tough chance.

Had Mandeep held on to that opportunity, it would certainly have been one of the finest catches in IPL history.


During RCB's chase, Mandeep was looking good at the crease before he was bowled by Afghanistan's leg-spinner Rashid Khan at the score of 24.
