While the dust on it has now settled, the duo traded blows on the social micro-blogging site after the British journalist mocked wild celebrations in India for its two Olympic medals.

Viru clearly did not want to drag this matter further and even refused to appear on Arnab Goswami's show to debate the same.

Not one to told back, Morgan tried his best to provoke the former India opener on multiple occasions. Viru however did not take the bait.

Fans of the Delhi batsman targeted Piers and were obviously angry with some of the 51-year-old's tweets on Sehwag.

What most didn't realize was the fact Piers had only wonderful things to say about Sehwag before their Twitter feud.

Here is what Piers tweeted after the explosive batsman retired in 2015.

Morgan loves engaging with his followers especially in matters related to sport. Cricket being his favorite sport, the Briton often compiles World XIs of cricketers he has witnessed his action.

Interestingly, Viru made it to every Piers Morgan XI right from 2012.

Based on this evidence, it is quite clear that Piers loved Viru the batsman. It's a pity the duo didn't get along in the virtual world.
