New Delhi: The veteran political figure and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa breathed her last at Chennai's Apollo hospital on Monday, December 5.
The nation is mourning the veteran leader's demise who started off her luminous career in films. She starred in a number films including, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada during the 1960s.
Also known as Amma, the 68-year-old thespian suffered a cardiac arrest following which she was admitted to Apollo hospital, Chennai where she breathed her last on December 5. Jayalalithaa has been laid to rest at Chennai's Marina beach, next to her mentor MGR.
Odisha's renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik, who has represented the country on several international platforms paid tribute to the iron lady in his own way.
He sculpted a beautiful sand art of Amma and shared the image on Twitter.
