It’s that time of the year when devotees of Goddess Durga welcome her to their homes and celebrate the power of Shakti. In East India, devotees celebrate Durga and her children’s ( Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha and Kartika) arrival. It is believed that she annually pays a visit to her Maika (mother’s home) along with her kids and returns on Dashami.
