It’s that time of the year when devotees of Goddess Durga welcome her to their homes and celebrate the power of Shakti. In East India, devotees celebrate Durga and her children’s ( Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha and Kartika) arrival. It is believed that she annually pays a visit to her Maika (mother’s home) along with her kids and returns on Dashami.
Navratri is all about bright attire, complimenting jewellery, festivities, Garbha and Dandiya dance besides devotional prayers and engagements.
