New Delhi: Late Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna's fans have petitioned for his wax figure at the Madame Tussauds.

"Rajesh Khanna made an outstanding contribution and impact on Indian cinema. It is imperative that today's generation and generations to come know the part he played in the history of Indian cinema," read a petition on ipetitions.com


Rajesh Khanna, touted as India's first superstar, acted in 163 feature films, of which 106 had him as the sole lead hero. He had 15 consecutive solo superhits, including ‘Aradhana’, between 1969 and 1972.


Rajesh Khanna, who later also dabbled in politics, died in July 2012.


Madame Tussauds will soon set up a permanent display museum of its famous wax creations at the Regal Cinema building here. It will be the first Madame Tussauds wax musuem in India.
