Delhi residents asked to stay indoors, avoid morning walks
Union Health Ministry on Wednesday has urged people to stay indoors in Delhi.
New Delhi: With the air pollution level deteoriating in the national capital region, the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday issued an advisory, urging people to stay indoors and avoid morning walks.
"Remain indoors if you have breathing difficulty and try to keep children indoors as much as possible. Avoid morning walk sor any other strenuous outdoor activity that increases breathing rate," said the advisory.
It suggested people to drink plenty of water and fluids and minimize the use of deodorants and room sprays as much as possible.
"Avoid smoking, avoid the areas with smoke or heavy dust. If one has any heart ailments or chronic respiratory disease or asthma, they should continue medication as advised by physician," said the advisory, adding that in case of any difficulty in breathing, increase in breathing rate, palpitations or severe bout of coughing and/or sneezing, they should seek medical assistance.
