New Delhi: A massive fire broke out near the landmark Western Court building in Janpath in the national capital on Monday.

The exact cause of the fire was not immediately known. According to some reports, the inferno broke out in a vacant plot near the building.


The blaze reportedly spread to the rear end of the Western Court building.


At least four fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the blaze.


A call was received at 4.28 PM about the fire in some furniture kept at a plot behind the colonial-era landmark, PTI reported citing a senior officer from the Delhi Fire Services.
