Delhi Traffic Police had issued an advisory asking people to avoid the flyover. "There is gap in joints on Lajpat Nagar Flyover from Ashram to Moolchand, two-wheelers please avoid this route," Delhi Police had tweeted on Thursday.

However, the officials have maintained that there is no need to worry and the gap will be fixed soon. The officials say that all flyovers have joints between two girders supported by pillars. While these girders expand during summers, they shrink during winters.

The flyover is a busy route which allows connectivity from Delhi to Noida. It is one of the most important links between south Delhi and other adjoining areas.
