Centre to soon amend Payment of Wages Act: Labour Minister
In order to ensure that workers receive their salaries either through cheques or directly in their bank accounts, Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday said the Centre would soon amend the Payment of Wages Act.
Hyderabad: In order to ensure that workers receive their salaries either through cheques or directly in their bank accounts, Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday said the Centre would soon amend the Payment of Wages Act.
"As Labour Minister, I feel happy that, in the government of Narendra Modi, Payment of Wages Act, Trade Unions have been asking for it, that the salaries of workers should come in bank accounts, in electronic mode.
"We will be bringing an amendment to Payment of Wages Act to see that salaries are given in bank account or cheque. Cabinet has passed (it)," he told reporters here.
