The compulsory Aadhaar linkage with driving licence is expected to take place by October this year.

The issuance of driving licences will have a centralised database that will prevent people getting multiple licences from different regional transport offices (RTOs) in different states.

The government has recently decided to make Aadhaar number mandatory for filing of Income Tax returns and compulsory linking it with your Permanent Account Number (PAN) card.

It is even contemplating to make Aadhaar card also mandatory for obtaining SIM cards.
