Fallujah, Feb 16: US Army soldiers have arrested the police chief of violence-plagued Fallujah after he abandoned his post without permission, a day before 37 people died in an attack on the city's police station, security sources said late last night. The chief fled the police headquarters in the city, 70 kilometres west of Baghdad, on Friday, a day before an assault by insurgents against the station. Up to 37 people, mostly Iraqi police officers, were killed and dozens of prisoners freed in the firefight. Bureau Report
