New Delhi, Aug 07: Putting the ball in government's court, the Opposition today suggested a three-point formula to resolve the deadlock in Lok Sabha over the PAC issue, including making available the CVC report on Kargil arms purchases to the parliamentary panel.
The formula was evolved at a meeting of opposition leaders convened by Congress president Sonia Gandhi soon after the second adjournment of the House over the issue.
the two other conditions put forward by the Opposition included a full fledged discussion on the issue which should be replied by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and tabling of all papers relating to the PAC meetings, CPI(M) leader Somnath Chatterjee told reporters.
Congress chief whip P R Dasmunsi went to meet Lok Sabha Speaker Manohar Joshi to apprise him about the stand of the Opposition on the issue. Chatterjee said that the opposition was ready to cooperate with the government with all constitution amendments, provided its demands were fulfilled.
Lok Jan Shakti leader Ram Vilas Paswan said smooth functioning of the House depended upon the government's attitude in the matter. Others present at the meeting included Ramjilal Suman of the Samajwadi Party, Ajai Chakraborty (CPI), Raghuvansh Prasad Singh (RJD) and Ramdas Athavale of RPI. Bureau Report
