Kochi, July 01: Protesting against the functioning of CPI-M leadership, 112 CPI-M activists, including Kolencherry area committee member of CPI(M), have decided to leave the party and work for the non-political forum," EMS, AKG Janakeeya Vedi" under the leadership of V B Cheriyan, a former CPI(M) leader. Addressing a press meet here today V B Cheriyan along with T S Narayanan, CPI(M) Kolencherry area committee member, alleged that the political strength of CPI-M was weakening and to stop that it was resorting to "political terrorism."
In a statement released at the press conference, the leaders alleged that both the UDF and LDF were diverting the attention of the people on the tribal land distribution issue. There was no change in the polices of both the fronts, they alleged.
Cheriyan also demanded a probe into the Left Democratic Front's (LDF) people's planning programme.
