Dhar, Nov 09: Infighting in BJP in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh over distribution of the party ticket from Dhar city assembly seat intensified today with three party candidates announcing not to contest the polls if the candidature of Sharad Vijaywargiya, a nominee of union Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vikram Verma, was not changed. Since the announcement of Vijaywargiya's name, the enraged Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM) and BJP workers have burnt the effigies of Verma at nearly 10 places in the city in protest, party sources said.
The party nominee from Dharampuri Jagdish Muvel told a press conference today that he would not contest the polls if the central leader did not change the candidate for Dhar seat.
Dhar is the home district of Vikram Verma.
He said BJP candidate from Badnawar Khemraj Patidar (sitting MLA) and Manawar candidate Ranjana Baghel would also not contest the polls if the candidature of Vijaywargiya is not changed.
The HJM's Dhar president Arvindkant Bordia and patron Jaswant Singh Rathore has given a deadline till November 10 to the BJP central leadership to pull out Vijaywargiya as otherwise the HJM, which has spearheaded the campaign for the liberation of Bhojshala temple, would announce a candidate having ‘Hindu leanings’.
