Chandigarh, Aug 26: Punjab Vigilance Bureau has initiated another inquiry against former Akali minister and MLA Tota Singh and a senior IPS officer. A P Pandey, chief director-cum-ADGP vigilance bureau, punjab told reporters today that irregularities were found in appointments of local bodies department during the tenure of the IAS officer as director.
Tota Singh as chairman of Punjab Mandi Board allegedly appointed a minister's son as class-two officer without following any rules and regulations, he said.
This officer is at present working as landscape officer in the department of horticulture, was also allegedly involved in embezzlements, Pandey said adding an inquiry had been initiated against an executive engineer of Mandi board at Muktsar for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Tota Singh was recently granted bail by a court in a corruption case.
