Srinagar, July 23: Six persons were injured when militants lobbed a grenade at a crowded market in Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway today, official sources said. The grenade was targeted at a camp of counter- insurgents associated with Ikhwan at upper market, 80 kms from here at around 11.40 am, the sources said.
The grenade fell short of the target and exploded on the road injuring six pedestrians, they said.
All the injured have been admitted to a hospital and the area was cordoned off to nab the ultras involved in the grenade blast, they said.
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the explosion so far.
