Raipur, July 20: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today asked the Congress to introspect about its "current bad situation" and to stop levelling allegations and staging agitation. BJP would seek vote on the "positive performance" of its government at the Centre in the coming elections, he said addressing a party workers conference here.
"Congress should stop levelling allegations and staging agitation like picketing in front of the Prime Minister's residence and introspect about its current bad situation," Advani said.
"It is unfortunate that even after 47 years of rule, the Congress is asking for another five year-term to construct roads," he said. Even after 50 years of independence, villages do not have drinking water or schools. "This is because the nation had 'swarajya' (independence) but not 'surajya' (good governance)," Advani alleged.
The Vajpayee government is determined to make India a developed nation by 2020 by providing security, development and social cohesiveness, he said.
BJP would seek vote in the next elections on its positive performance, on the good governance of its government at the Centre, Advani said.
The Deputy Prime Minister exuded confidence that the BJP would form the new government in Chattisgarh after the coming assembly elections. Bureau Report
