Mysore, Dec 13: A company of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has arrived here on their way to M M Hills to further strengthen the intensified hunt for forest brigand Veerappan following the death of JD(U) leader H Nagappa in his custody.
Equipped with "Insas", a powerful weapon used in guerilla operations, the company would coordinate the joint operations by the special task forces of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, official sources here told a news agency.
The Karnataka government had requested the Centre to lend its support in the operations to hunt down Veerappan, which were suspended after the kidnap of Nagappa by the bandit.
Karnataka and Tamil Nadu STFs are already carrying out stepped up operations to flush out Veerappan.
