Raipur, July 30: The No-Confidence Motion moved by the main opposition BJP against the Ajit Jogi government in Chhattisgarh was defeated in the house late last night with 23 votes in favour and 59 against it. The BJP members did not allow the chief minister to reply to the debate on the motion on the pretext that Jogi had walked out of the house during the discussion. When Jogi stood up to reply after a nearly 13-hour discussion, the entire opposition protested vehemently which led to the house being adjourned for five minutes by the deputy Speaker Dharamjeet Singh. When the house reassembled only to witness the uproarious scenes yet again, the chair decided to go in for voting without the reply of the Chief Minister.
Finally the motion moved by the BJP was defeated with 23 votes in favour while 59 votes against it.
