Chennai, Nov 25: PMK president G K Mani, MLA, today surrendered before a metropolitan magistrate court at Egmore here.
Police was in search of Mani, in connection with a case for preventing the chairman of a trust from attending office last month.
Mani had filed an anticipatory bail in the madras high court, which was dismissed last week.
Mani, along with other another PMK MLA, R Guru had been charged with preventing retired madras high court judge Thangamani, who was appointed chairman of the Chengalvarayan educational trust, from attending office.
The trust, founded by the late Vanniya leader Chengalvarayan, had been running a number of educational institutions in the state.

The trust, which was managed by the Pachiappa's trust so far, was bifurcated and a new board of trustees, headed by Thangamani was nominated by the high court.
When the new committee went to the trust premises to take over the administration, Mani, along with his supporters, allegedly prevented them from doing so following which Thangamani filed a complaint in the high court.
The court had directed police to investigate the matter and arrest the culprits. Police had arrested 17 persons, but Mani and Guru had been avoiding arrest.
