New Delhi, May 05: The third phase of elections today witnessed technical snags in electronic voting machines (EVMs) at several places in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Even high profile constituency of Prime Minister was not spared.
However, despite the reports of initial problems polling resumed after EVMs were either rectified or replaced.
In Lucknow, polling booths situated in front of Governor House at PWD office and at Bishan Narayan Inter College, where Prime Minister cast his vote, developed technical snag. The voting was delayed for sometime but the official soon rectified the problem.
Another report from Farrukhabad in UP also stated about a snag in an EVM causing delay in the polling. In other states of Rajasthan, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh too, reports of technical snag in EVMs have been reported. Besides causing delay, there has been no severe impact.
