Dhar, Feb 23: The curfew imposed in Dhar, Digthan, Amjhera, Tanda and Rajgarh towns following arson and violence since Tuesday last following an agitation by Hindu Jagaran Manch over the Bhojshala issue, was relaxed today and no untoward incident was reported from anywhere, official sources said. The relaxation of curfew in these towns was for varying periods, they said.

In Dhar, the curfew was relaxed for five and a half hours from 8.30am to 11am and from 3pm to 6pm.

District collector Sanjay Dubey had yesterday announced that curfew would be relaxed today from 9am to 5pm in view of the weekly market.

However, due to tension in the city last night following release of women, arrested in connection with Bhojshala storming, who reached Dhar from Indore late in the night, the authorities changed their minds, official sources said.

At Digthan also curfew was relaxed for five hours, while in Amjhera it was relaxed for two hours for women only. At Rajgarh it was relaxed for four hours, while in Tanda it was lifted for the whole day in view of the weekly market, the sources said.

Meanwhile, talking to reporters Hindutva outfit Durga Vahini's district coordinator, Saroj Upadhyaya and BJP leader Brijlata Vijaywargiya alleged that jail officials had misbehaved with them and beaten them up and also not served them food on February 19.
