Police raid houses of Raja Bhaiya, cousin
Lucknow, June 02: Uttar Pradesh police today raided the residences of two jailed independent legislators - Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya and his cousin Akshay Pratap Singh - in Rae Bareli and Lucknow simultaneously in connection with the murder of one Rajesh Srivastava in Sultanpur, a spokesman of the home department said here.

Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya and his cousin Akshay
Pratap Singh - in Rae Bareli and Lucknow simultaneously in
connection with the murder of one Rajesh Srivastava in
Sultanpur, a spokesman of the home department said here.
The Bhadri house of Raja Bhaiya and the legislator's flat
in Gokhale Marg and at one place in Rae Bareli with the
purpose of arresting a person wanted in connection with the
murder, the spokesman said.
Srivastava was killed on May 27 last and police subsequently arrested three persons. During interrogation the arrested disclosed that they were provided arms and ammunition by the wife of Akhshay Pratap Singh, said the spokesman.
On that tip-off raids were carried out in Lucknow and Rae Bareli but no one was arrested, he said. Raja Bhaiya, who along with ten other independent MLAs raised a banner of revolt against the Mayawati government, was currently languishing in jail after being charged with threatening a BJP MLA.
The government later slapped Pota and the gangster act on him.
