Islamabad, July 06: Pakistan today accused Indian security forces of killing local villagers in Jammu and Kashmir to portray them as infiltrators from across the border.
Referring to the recent killing of three Harkat-ul-Jihad-Islami militants by Indian security forces near LoC in Jammu, the foreign office here said that these were allegations "motivated by desire to implicate Pakistan." "The latest murders were clearly inspired by the motive to lend credence to Indian allegations of cross-LoC infiltration," it said in a statement and called upon the international community to take notice of this.
The statement also cited reports in a section of Indian media which said that the three youth killed near LoC in Jammu could be local villagers and not the militants of Harkat-ul-Jehad-i-Islami. It said that such allegations could credibly be verified by strengthening of the UN monitoring group for impartial monitoring of the LoC.
