Two Kuki ultras killed, two arrested in Manipur
Imphal, Feb 27: The Assam rifles personnel shot dead two youths, suspected to be the members of underground Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA), at Songlung village, about 20 kms west of Saikul police station, under Senapati district yesterday.

In a incident, another two Kuki ultras were arrested last evening by the police commandos from Gwaltabi village. One SLR and a wireless set were recovered from them.
Two youths identified as Letgoulan Sobang of Keithelmanbi and Minhaosing Sitlhou of Santing village. Were killed during the raid by Assam rifles at the Sonlung village following a tip-off. In the other incident the two militants were arrested during combing operations after the Imphal Ukhrul bound passenger bus was set ablaze at Gwaltabi by some unknown gunmen. All the passenger buses plying on Imphal-Ukhrul road were suspended indefinitely after the incident.
Meanwhile, Gwaltabi and Yaingangpokpi road transport association has submitted a memorandum to the state chief minister demanding immediate action and adequate compensation to the bus owner.
The association threatened a statewide agitation in collaboration with Manipur transport joint coordinating committee if the government failed to take appropriate action.
