Kolkata, July 03: Trinamool Congress legislator Dipak Ghose today accused the party leadership of "committing public fraud" in the name of suspending him from the party and demanded that they should immediately issue a statement making it clear that no notice to the effect was issued to him. Ghose, a former IAS officer, said here that he had given 48-hour dateline to the party for serving him the suspension notice, which expired yesterday.
"Since I have not received the notice, the party should now issue a statement making it clear that they have not issued any suspension notice to me," Ghose said. A bureaucrat-turned-politician, Ghose also shot off a letter to the party during the day demanding that they should issue such a statement within 24 hours.
The copy of the letter has been sent to all the members of the disciplinary committee besides the leader of opposition and also to party supremo Mamata Banerjee, he said. Ghose charged the party leadership with "committing public fraud" regarding his suspension only to “damage his honour and reputation”.
When contacted, TC general secretary and a member of the disciplinary committee, Mukul Roy declined to make any comment on the issue describing it as party's "internal matter".
The disciplinary committee of TC had suspended Ghose on June 30 for writing letters to all party MLAs in which he termed the decision to boycott the assembly as "arbitrary" and demanded an immediate meeting of TC Legislature Party to end the boycott. Bureau Report
