Kopargaon (Maharashtra), Mar 11: Alleging that the TDP has not cared to "take note of her work", film actress Jaya Prada today said she had joined the Samajawadi Party disillusioned with this treatment.
"I have respect for former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Ramarao and also for present caretaker Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who brought me into politics. But the TDP has changed today. It did not take note of my works hence I have joined Samajwadi Party," Jaya Prada told reporters here.

"Uttar Pradesh is the biggest state in the country and hence I joined Samajwadi Party so that I can shine myself through this big state," she said adding, "I will now work for women." She also praised UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and party general secretary Amar Singh.

Jaya Prada was here to attend the annual gathering of Sanjivani Education Society where she was felicitated by society's executive trustee Nitin Rao Kolhe. Bureau Report
