Mumbai, Nov 14: Computer software mogul Bill Gates last night unveiled his vision for the "Digital Decade" of 2000-09 stating that it will transform human life par recognition across the globe.
"The digital decade is going to drastically change human life like reading habits, communication and trustworthiness all over the world", Gates said in his 40-minute presentation at a function organised by the Economic Times here.
Stating that Microsoft's latest product the Tablet PC would be launched in India next month, Gates said the previous decade was one for "computing" and six million personal computers were sold last year.
The function was attended by over 250 CEOs, numerous industry captians, top officials of the central and state government and from the public as well as the private sector.
The billionaire, who introduced by Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, was invited at the function to share his thoughts on "realising potential."



Later, in the Q&A session, Gates was asked his opinion on what would have he been, if he was 20 years old and an Indian citizen? To which he answered that "I am going to look at things in a manner which nobody has ever looked at."



Announcing his USD 400 million investment in India over next three years, Gates said Indian IT sector had done a commendable job especially in the banking sector.



"ICICI Bank is doing well", he added.



On AIDS, the philanthropist said India could apply the measures taken by Thailand, which has done a "good job" in spreading awareness about the endemic.
