AVUT filed contempt petition against Uphaar Cinema officials
New Delhi, Nov 17: The Association of Victims of Uphaar Tragedy (AVUT) today filed a contempt petition against the general manager of Uphaar Cinema and the director of Ansal theatres for having allegedly filed false affidavits in connection with the payment of Rs 12 crore by the cinema owners to the victims as ordered by the court.
New Delhi, Nov 17: The Association of Victims of Uphaar Tragedy (AVUT) today filed a contempt petition against the general manager of Uphaar Cinema and the director of Ansal theatres for having allegedly filed false affidavits in connection with the payment of Rs 12 crore by the cinema owners to the victims as ordered by the court.
In its petition filed through counsel K Sultan Singh and Vikas Pahwa, AVUT urged the court to initiate contempt proceedings against Uphaar general manager K L Malhotra and Ansal theatres director V K Sehgal for allegedly misleading the court.
The court is likely to hear the petition on November 25.
