Pak delegation leaves for J&K to inspect Baglihar project
New Delhi, Oct 20: A three-member Pakistani delegation left here today for Jammu and Kashmir for an on-the-spot inspection of the Baglihar project on the Indus river.

The team, led by Pakistan Commissioner for Indus waters
Syed Jamait Ali Shah, would visit the project as per
provisions in the Indus Water Treaty between India and
Pakistan.
Joint Commissioner (Indus) in the Union Ministry of Water Resources Narinder Kumar said there was no discussion scheduled between the two sides and the Pakistani delegation was in the country only on an inspection tour as per the treaty.
Under the treaty, either side can inspect the projects on a simple request.
The team, which arrived in the country from Wagah border yesterday, would return on Oct 23, he said.
