New Delhi, July 04: A Delhi court today directed Uttar Pradesh Police to produce Vikas Yadav, son of Rajya Sabha MP D P Yadav, here tomorrow in connection with the Jessica Lal murder case trial in which he is one of the accused.
Additional sessions Judge R L Chugh sent the production warrant through special messenger to the authorities of Ghaziabad Jail, where Vikas is in judicial custody in connection with the kidnapping-cum murder case of Delhi-based business executive Nitish Katara. Vikas along with Siddharth Vashisth alias Manu Sharma and seven others had been chargesheeted for the murder of ramp model Jessical Lal on the intervening night of April 29-30, 1999.
Lal was shot dead allegedly by Manu, son of former union minister Vinod Sharma at a South Delhi restaurant owned by NRI socialite Bina Ramani where she had hosted a farewell party for her Canadian husband George Malihot. Manu is currently on interim bail.
