Kolkata, Mar 27: Consumers were faced with problems for one more day as the nation-wide strike by the employees of Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum against disinvestment of the companies entered its third and final day today. Many of the small oil stations in the city were running out of fuel following no supply for the past two days. Pumps of Indian Oil, whose employees had gone on a one-day token strike yesterday, were, however, running with full capacity. Of the over 220 pumps in the metropolis, 67 are operated by the IOC.
IOC sources said they were ready to supply fuel to HP and BP-operated pumps if approached by their authorities. IOC, which had supplied 20 per cent excess fuel to its pumps on Monday in view of yesterday's strike, said they would clear the full indent of their pumps during the day.
Some of the pumps operated by HP and BP have already hung 'no stock' boards. Bureau Report
