Jaipur, June 04: Heatwave conditions sweeping Rajasthan claimed six lives during the last 24 hours, as the day temperature rose to 49 degree Celsius in the desert town of Churu. Heat stroke claimed the lives of three labourers working on drought relief works in Jhilai, Baseda and Titolai villages in Tonk district, police said
Three persons also died due to the extreme heat in the state capital Jaipur, they said.
Temperatures continued to rise across the state with Kota recording 47 degree Celsius, Jaipur recording 46, Ajmer recording 45 and Dabok was at 44 making the day the hottest ever.
The heat wave conditions are likely to continue in the next 24 hours, local weather office said.
