As Pistol and Boo prepare to land in the native Los Angeles, officers from the US Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection have warned that the pets will be closely examined upon arrival, News.com.au reported.

Jaime Ruiz, a Customs and Border Protection spokesman, said that they do a visual examination, and if they see any sign of illness, they'll take action, which is standard procedure for them."

The threats against Pistol and Boo come hours after the 51-year-old actor abandoned his plans to flee the country with his two pet dogs, instead sending the tiny pooches home on their very own private jet.

As new pictures emerged believed to show the two pooches being carried off the plane in a handbag, News Corp Australia can reveal the saga could cost Depp and Heard close to 1 million dollars.
