New Delhi, June 18: Indian IT training major NIIT on Wednesday said it was chalking out expansion plans for strengthening its presence in China and also evaluating various initiatives in China's IT training space. "After achieving a 100 education centre mark in China last quarter, NIIT is now busy drawing up expansion plans for further strengthening its presence in China. NIIT is evaluating a number of initiatives on China's IT training space, where it works in partnership with local companies with over 10 universities and three software technology parks," a NIIT release said here.
As part of its China focus, NIIT chairman Rajendra S Pawar has extensively travelled to study the Chinese market, the last visit being in February 2003.
"China offers a big opportunity for NIIT and we have over 100 education centres there. The market demands deep understanding and long term commitment. NIIT is well poised to grow its IT manpower development efforts in China," Chief Operating Officer of NIIT, P Rajendran said.
Rajendran is scheduled to visit China as part of a CII delegation accompanying the Prime Minister on his visit to China later this week. Bureau Report
