New Delhi, Nov 03: For his role in restoring the historic Portugese-build Bombay Castle, Naval chief Admiral Madhvendera Singh has bagged the Maritime Heritage Award. The award, instituted by the World Ship Trust, is being awarded for the first time in India and will be presented by Defence Minister George Fernandes at a function tomorrow.
Under the direction of Singh, a comprehensive action plan for restoration and conservation work of Bombay Castle was undertaken by the Western Naval Command involving beautification of the site.
