"Greek society has gotten rid of a decades old problem and now Greece can boast being one of the safest countries in the world in the run-up to the games," said Christos Protopapas.
His comments were made after a court found 15 people guilty of involvement in the November 17 group which was blamed for a series of attacks and murders between 1975 and 2002, including on foreign diplomats.
