Athens, Dec 09: The guilty verdict handed down by a Greek court today in the trial of the radical November 17 group will allow Greece to showcase itself in the run-up to the 2004 Olympics as one of the safest countries in the world, a government spokesman said.
"Greek society has gotten rid of a decades old problem and now Greece can boast being one of the safest countries in the world in the run-up to the games," said Christos Protopapas.
His comments were made after a court found 15 people guilty of involvement in the November 17 group which was blamed for a series of attacks and murders between 1975 and 2002, including on foreign diplomats.
