New Delhi, Aug 07: In the midst of heat generated
over National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) moving the
Supreme Court on the best bakery case, National Commission for
Scheduled Castes and Schedules Tribes (NCSCST) has questioned
the NHRC'S decision.
"I am a member of NHRC but I do not know about the decision. It is my right to know", NCSCST chairman B S Shastri said adding that he had written to NHRC secretary general seeking details of the meeting in which the decision was taken to move the apex court.
He said under the Human Rights Act, chairman of the NCSCST, National Commission for Women and National Commission for Minorities were the members of the NHRC.
Shastri said he wanted to have a discussion with the NHRC chairman but was yet to hear from the human rights body.
On the NCSCST communication, NHRC spokesman merely said that a reply has been sent but declined to give details.
