Jammu, May 04: Blaming Congress for the problems in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister and BJP candidate from Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency Chaman Lal Gupta today said the party was converting the state into another Bihar by encouraging anti-social elements. Addressing election meetings at Rajbagh in the constituency, Gupta said "Congress is mother of all ills in Jammu and Kashmir."

He alleged congress "bred fundamentalism" in Kashmir by encouraging organisations like Jamat-e-Islami and had "a marriage of convenience" with national conference which gave birth to terrorism and slogans of azadi, autonomy and jehad.

Gupta said Congress, knowing that it will be defeated in the elections, was trying to make heroes out of anti-social elements who were resorting to uncivilized behaviour and trying to terrorise people.
Referring to the recent attack at Mansar, the BJP leader questioned the state government why no action was taken against those who beat and destroyed property of civilians and inflicted serious injuries on policemen and escaped from police station.

He said there were several incidents which showed that congress campaigners were misusing government resources.
Gupta cautioned the people against congress and its allies and appealed to them to save the state from becoming another Bihar, where jungle raj prevailed and people in jail contested elections.

He listed the achievements of the Vajpayee government in the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, particularly Udhampur.
