Kanpur, Sept 01: Uttar Pradesh government today filed an application before a court here to withdraw Pota case against independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya and two others. Government counsel Dhyan Chand filed an application, seeking to withdraw the cases under the anti-terrorism law against Raja Bhaiya, his father Udai Pratap Singh and MLC Akshya Pratap Singh.
The application was filed before the additional district and sessions judge as Pota court judge Shailendra Saxena was on leave. The court has fixed September 5 to take up the application.
Immediately after taking over as the Chief Minister, Mulayam Singh Yadav, had ordered revocation of Pota case against the MLA. Raja Bhaiya has since been shifted to PGI, Lucknow while his father and Akshay Pratap Singh are lodged in Pratap Garh and Mirzapur jails respectively. Bureau Report
