Siemens launches `C55 Silver` mobile
Mumbai, Nov 12: Siemens Mobile has introduced the `C55 Silver`, a special variant of the C55 mobile phone. The launch has been timed in accordance with the Indian festive season and the traditional buying of precious metals and jewellery at this time. The new model is being projected as a fashion accessory.

Commendable features of the new model include its sleek look and good audio quality for downloading. It also offers other audio features like personalied recording. Apart from sound, the model enables download of images and animations. Stored bitmap or animation images can also be used to identify specific callers.
"The Indian mobile phone consumers demand all the latest features in a highly aesthetic and attractive package. The initial response to the 'C55 Silver' indicates that we have the right offering at the right time", said Peter Gartenberg, Executive Vice President (Information & Communication Mobile), Mobile Phones Division, Siemens Ltd.
Among the more technical features, the 'C55 Silver' offers Java Wireless Technology and GPRS that enable data transfer, internet surfing, and downloads of applications, games and polyphonic ring tones. The 'Magic Buttons' allow fast surfing on the keypad. The model also offers premium messaging functions like the EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service) for sending pictures, animations and sound messages.
The 'C55 Silver' is equipped with an extra long Li-Ion battery and has up to 300 hours stand-by or up to 300 minutes talk time. The phone weighs light at 80gm light and is priced at approximtely Rs 6,000.
