Beijing, Sept 23: China today questioned the real intentions of the United States in slapping new sanctions on Chinese companies and vehemently denied proliferation of
Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) or their technologies.
Expressing Chinese government's dissatisfaction at and firm opposition to the US sanctioning of other countries according to its own laws, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Kong Quan said Beijing has always opposed the proliferation of WMD and their means of delivery.
Kong made the remark in response to a question about the US sanctions recently imposed on China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) and China's related sectors. He said China had come up with a series of laws and regulations on its export control, and carried out effective cooperation with related countries, including the United States, adding, such cooperation was expected to continue on the basis of mutual respect and trust.
However, The United States again imposed sanctions on NORINCO and all activities of China in the development and production of missiles, aircraft, spacecraft, electronics and warplanes, Kong was quoted as saying by the official Xinhua news agency. Bureau Report
