New Delhi, Nov 16: HCL Infinet has tied up with National Insurance company to launch a scheme for the customers of Nokia GSM mobile handsets. The scheme, called HCL Safeguard, offers insurance cover to the customer handset in the first year against theft and also offers an extended warranty for the second year, besides covering public liability to the extent of Rs 10,000, J Ramamurthy, president and CEO, HCL Infinet told reporters.
The scheme comes free of cost to the customer on purchase of Nokia GSM mobile from the dealer and is available only on phones imported by Nokia India and distributed by HCL Infinet across the country.
All Nokia handsets purchased after October 25, 2003 are covered.
HCL Infinet is a 100 per cent arm of HCL Infosystems and is the largest distributor of Nokia phones in the country and is applicable from basic to the high-end model, Ramamurthy said.
